Why do we keep building HealthTech products that nobody wants?
Great HealthTech products are always about people, not technology.
The healthcare industry is going through an unprecedented period of change and there is no doubt that healthcare systems are looking to technology to support their transformation.
Healthcare professionals are being asked to deliver more services with less money and fewer resources, while patients are facing more choices and have greater expectations.
Whilst the digital transformation of healthcare has the potential to help address these challenges (and more) and improve outcomes for patients, it will only work if we start with people!
It's about removing the friction of change, adoption and usage for healthcare professionals, stakeholders and patients. Not creating more.
It’s about solving problems for healthcare professionals, stakeholders and patients that are big enough to be solved. The things that can’t be lived with or worked around.
It's about delivering the value of technology without huge operational, technological or clinical change. Healthcare systems don’t have the time to slow down, nor is there an appetite to massively change working practices just to make the technology work.
It's about solutions that can support clinicians do what they do best. Without technology getting in the way.
Of course, there are massive benefits that technology can deliver to healthcare systems, but we have to remember that healthcare is and always will be a people-first industry.
Digital transformation of healthcare will only succeed if we start with people and then use technology to support them in achieving their goals.
We need to remind ourselves more often that we do that technology is simply a tool - a means to an end - and not the goal in itself.

Agree completely. That's why we had to custom build solutions that allowed us to deliver a better patient experience. We knew what needed solving.
