The NHS estimates that millions of patients will gain from quicker diagnosis and treatment as a result.
The NHS presently has a variety of technology solutions that handle enormous volumes of data, so while this strategy is a step in the right direction, it is not the only one.
The speed and quality of care can be hampered by navigating the intricacies of various systems and communicating important information among them. However, overcoming these challenges is not impossible.
Working together for shared goals during the epidemic helped to overcome some of the obstacles to information sharing across organisational boundaries within the government.
