Revolutionising Sleep Health: Eaze's Innovative Approach Garners €1.7 Million in Pre-seed Funding
Berlin's Healthtech Pioneer Eaze Paves the Way for Personalised Sleep Coaching
Sleep disorders plague every second European, yet current solutions often fail to address the root causes, offering only temporary relief and frequently accompanied by undesirable side effects. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is widely recognised as the most effective tool to combat sleep problems, but there is a shortage of qualified practitioners in this field.
Eaze, a healthtech start-up based in Berlin, has stepped into this gap with a tech-enabled coaching app that leverages CBT to provide data-driven, personalised sleep coaching. The company, which demonstrated early signs of product-market fit last year, has already attracted over 1,000 paying users and recently announced the successful closing of a €1.7 million pre-seed funding round.
The funding round was led by Redstone’s and EnjoyVenture’s social impact fund, with participation from Barmenia Next Strategies, APX (Porsche and Axel Springer), and several prominent angel investors. The funds will be used to boost customer acquisition, enhance brand recognition, and further develop the platform, including implementing efficient and suitable AI technologies.
Eaze's CEO, Tim Seifferth, emphasised the severe impact of sleep problems on productivity, mental well-being, and long-term health. He cited a study by the American think tank Rand Corporation, which estimated that sleep problems cost the economy and public health system more than €60 billion. Eaze's solution targets the psychological and behavioural root causes of sleep problems, offering a long-term solution. The app provides users hyper-personalised access to a qualified sleep psychologist via an intelligent chat app.
The company's intelligent coaching technology combines data-driven treatment recommendations with personalised online coaching from qualified sleep experts. The founding team, which includes CEO Tim Seifferth, COO Timur Nohut, CPO Noah Nawara, and sleep expert Anne-Sophie Fluri, has achieved significant milestones in less than 18 months since the company's inception.
Lead investor Lucas Paul from Redstone expressed confidence in Eaze's potential to address this escalating health problem in a scalable way. He praised the founding team for developing an intelligent app that meets the demand for personalised coaching. He highlighted the impressive opportunities for scaling offered by the intelligent tech stack in the background.
